The Show where everybody either dies or can't hold on to happiness for longer than 30 seconds.
Don't get me wrong - so far I'm loving this little futuristically and apocalyptic jem. It is dark, it has great characters that evolve in ways you do not expect, and, so far, each season has a new arc (no pun intended) that most of us are not expecting - from savage people to an A.I wanting to take over the world, the 100 will take you to wondrous places - if you like SciFi in post - apocalyptic settings and angst (sooo much angst!) then this is probably the show for you.
It all starts with the remaining of the human race trying to survive in space. About a century after an event that caused non survivable levels of radiation to roam the earth, the last survivors of the human race inhabit an old space station - well, a junction of several space stations from different countries, actually - where they try to survive with extreme difficulty and even extremer laws to insure said survival - their issues go from rationed and low medical supplies to what we shall call The Great Secret: They're running out of oxygen!
In an attempt so ensure the survival of the human race it is decided they will send 100 of their children to the ground to ascertain whether the Earth is survivable or not.
On the ground the kids will have dangerous and deadly adventures trying to survive, while home, on the Ark things keep getting worse for those left behind.
The show has an enormous array of characters whom, throughout the plot, will change their ways to see the world in irreparable ways. We'll have our idealist, who ends up having to do whatever is necessary to assure the survival of the 100, including murder. You'll have the person you'll think of as the villain until at a certain point you realize he was only doing what he thought was right for his people - you know the one, one moment you want someone to stab him in the face and then, he's your precious little cinnamon roll. You'll have the leader turned executioner of his people. You'll have the misguided beasts you so adore, and so on and so on... In all truth I'm loving the jumps the show goes through so far. Here, have an appetite opener with the trailer for Season 4:
